“For lunch, the OMG sandwich is a must, and ingredients are all imported--so no Boars Head in the luncheon meats. ”

“For an elevated reasonably priced BOMB food experience you look no further than Heroic. The sandwiches are some of the best in LA. The space is gorgeously decorated, clean and classy.”

“It's nicely located a couple blocks from Santa Monica Beach.  It's a deli merged with a wine bar and it's a cute, modern, quaint place to host happy hour with clients or with friends.  Everybody was so friendly and smiling, especially Jeff Merrihue!  We were greeted with smiles and bubbly upon walking in, and I immediately loved the place.

“THIS restaurant is the place to be right now in Santa Monica!!! Chef Barbara is hands down, one of the best - if not best Italian chef from Italy I've ever experienced in the states!”

Heroic named 2019 Best Italian Restaurants in LA

“When three warmhearted food professionals come together, you can expect the best. You can return again and again as it will never be the same. To ensure quality, Pollastrini shops daily; therefore, the menu is very short, and very delicious. The evening we went we got to indulge in Nonna’s Gnudi, a gnudi where Pollastrini has added spinach to the ricotta and seasoned it with sage brown butter and fluffy Parmesan.”

LA Weekly • “The wine bar and the deli are connected, which makes it easy to pop in for a bite with friends at the wine bar or grab a spot to study with a glass of wine in the deli. When you walk into Heroic Deli, you will notice it has not the typical deli perfumes of aged meats and cheeses but rather a soft, inviting ambiance and smells of newly opened red wine.”

Argonaut News (April 10, 2019) • “One of the best dishes is the souffle, a portmanteau of soup and soufflé. This take on a traditional pappa al pomodoro dish bursts with flavor — perfect for a light evening meal paired with a glass of gorgeous red wine. You’ll wonder if you’ve died and gone to Italy.”
